In September 2018, I went to Cuba for the first time.

When I was younger, the Cuban revolution was an importnant political change much discussed between my friends.

After so many years, I was there and I saw long lines of empty shelves in the shops. These had a strange effect on me. The guide told us that this is nothing new and it has been like this for years.

Once inside the shops, the risk is that there is little to buy. Basic necessities are rationed (for the sardines they told me that the limit is four cans per customer).

I had a cold, I asked where I can find some tissues.

Nothing to do, they just cannot  be found.
